Doctor Kidd joined Burton Creek Veterinary Clinic in Summer 2021. He has been on and off in the region for his whole life and is thrilled to call north Lake Tahoe home. After graduating from UC Berkeley, he attended the School of Veterinary Medicine at Ross University followed by a year at UC Davis. Post-graduate work has taken Scott to Australia and New York City for small animal internships and to Reno for a surgical internship. Dr. Kidd went on to complete a three-year residency in small animal surgery in Ohio before moving back to a specialty hospital in Reno as a surgeon. After practicing as a specialty surgeon for several years, Dr. Kidd missed the connections and wellness aspects of general practice so he decided to join Burton Creek, bringing his compassion for general practice, as well as the additional skill set in surgery. He is interested in all aspects of surgery, including advanced orthopedic and soft tissue procedures. Outside of work, Dr. Kidd’s favorite pastimes include mountain biking, snowboarding/splitboarding, and hiking with his dog Brandi.

Dr. Buckton received his Veterinary Doctorate from University of California, Davis in 2001. The beauty of the Sierras and the excellent clientele and patients of Lake Tahoe eventually lured him back to the area. In 2008 Doctor Buckton purchased North Lake Veterinary Clinic in Tahoe City and changed the name to Burton Creek Veterinary Clinic. In the hospital, Dr. Buckton has interests in general medicine and preventive care, dentistry, surgery, ultrasonography and wildlife/ exotics. When he isn’t practicing veterinary medicine, he is typically outdoors snowboarding, skiing, surfing, mountain biking, skateboarding and camping. His family includes 2 teenage boys, Rory and Kyler, a Golden Retriever named Emma, 2 Geckos named Crystal and Amber, as well as many aquarium fish.
